"Out of the closet and into a room"

Chapter 1

I f you're a teenager, have overprotective and overbearing parents and you're living with a secret, we could probably be best friends.

My name is Aire pronounced "air". Ill be fifteen in September and I attend Niji High school. Despite the name, this is not an Asian school. Its name comes from the Japanese word meaning "rainbow" which the school thought was appropriate since it combined many cultures into one big happy rainbow.

Of course the school was and still is blind to the fact of just how much the rainbow means to the school especially since eighty five percent of the student population is gay. And yes I am part of that percentage.

I've been out for a little over a year now and I just wanted to look back at these past months. I thought I was doing well when I came out to my dad. But as it turns out, all I did was step out of the closet and into an even bigger secluded room.
