What I Would Say
There's so many things I'd have said if I could,
And if I could have just one minute with them. . .
I'd tell my dead grandfather,
That even know we never met,
I still miss him, and love him.
And tell him his family is doing fine.
I'd tell my bullies from the past
To quit picking on me because I was small,
And that they had no right to
Make me have to hide my bruises.
I'd tell my mother
To never forget the times I said "I love you."
And that even when I'm gone, I'll still be here,
To never be sad or try to forget.
I'd tell my father
That even though he pisses me off,
I only wanted to make him proud,
And I've always loved him, through good and bad.
I'd tell my brother
That although I don't always act like it,
I've always loved him more than anything else,
And that I'd die for him.
I'd tell my grandmother
That I was always happy when she hugged me tight,
And how I loved that special time we had to talk,
Even if it was while doing chores.
I'd tell my grandfather
That it always made me happy when he called me his Princess,
And that I actually cried when he stopped.
That it hurt when he started choosing Shawn over me.
I'd tell my friends
I've always loved them each like sisters,
And I could never ask for anyone better.
Thank them for being the only ones who were there for me when I cried.
I'd tell God
He's always been my hero,
And I appreciate the angels He sent me,
And thank Him for listening to my prayers.
If only I could have just one minute with them. . .
