I did this for a school project. It's one of my 'deeper' poems. Which is heavier: Tears or Rain?

Tears
Tears, they fall.
Rain, it falls.
Which is heavier?
.
Rain, it seems,
As it pounds
Into the road,
.
The grass,
The window,
The face.
.
But is it so?
Are not tears
Heavier than rain?
.
Tears when they fall,
Their land is so light
Because they are so small.
.
Rain, its purpose is great,
But tears, their meaning
Is so much more.
.
Tears carry the burden of all.
The grief of the child
Whose father has forever gone,
.
The dolor of the mother
Whose son she's lost,
The dejection of the teenager
.
Who misses her home,
The adversity of the dog
Whose paw now owns a thorn,
.
The shock of the husband
Whose wife just died,
The pain of the man
.
Who gave, in agony, his life
For yours.
These are tears.
.
As the child weeps,
As the mother screams,
As the teenager sits, helplessly,
.
As the dog limps,
As the husband staggers,
And as the man cries out,
.
Tears are rolling, running,
Racing down cheeks.
Their soothing and caring touch
.
It relieves,
It heals.
These are tears.
.
The weights carried from your heart,
They stream down your face.
Once removed, your spirits lift.
.
Rain, it falls.
Tears, they fall.
Which is heavier?
.
Rain, it seems.
But look deeper, and you will find
That tears are heavier.
