The Sweetest Fruit
Forbidden Love, a kiss so sweet
All guilt's forgotten in the heat
This fruit is sure to stay quite fresh
Until you leave our hearts shall mesh
My eyes are dry; no moisture here
Just sad rules to which I adhere
These moralistic laws are torture
I long for you 'til your departure
Then it's back to good old patterns
The same routines. Such mundane matters
The distance between you and me
May soon give way to apathy
Some nights you'll creep into my mind
But what's gone is not for me to find.
