Chapter Six

It's a few minutes past midnight. My mother is passed out in her room and the house is otherwise empty. Various items are scattered on top of my bed.

A large back pack filled with snacks, a toothbrush, toothpaste, a comb, my money, and a weeks worth of clothing. A plain blue base ball cap, a maroon hoodie, and a pillow also lie on the bed.

I left Levi a voice message earlier telling him to stay put, but I doubt he'd listen. Either way, I have to get to the train station before my mom wakes up and comes to check up on me. It's one of her knew weird habits.

I grab my belongings and head out the door. My bike is chained to our porch. I unlock it and hop on. The escape is so easy, the journey is the hardest part.
