A tragedy at Norwegian Soil
At first, I heard a large bang, like a thunderbolt had struck right next to my room, after that the house started shaking for a few seconds. About five minutes later, fire trucks sped past my house with howling, sirens. An hour later, I saw the horrible pictures and videos on TV
We stood together as one that day:
Muslims and Christians,
East and West,
We all did our best
To keep our spirits up
More than 80 people were killed at Utøya,
Bodies in the water and fear that my friends had been there
A day later, the face and name of the killer appeared in every newspaper and on every news channel
My hometown Oslo will never feel the same
The killer said that it was
"Brutal but necessary"
But I don't understand
How someone can wish to hurt innocent children
My hometown will never be the same
We stood together as one that day:
Muslims and Christians,
East and West,
We all did our best
To keep our spirits up
