Friends on High

On a very tall hill

In a far away place

Lived a shy little girl

With a very sad face

For she did not have a friend

On day like any other

She fell into a deep slumber

On the side of the field in which she lay

Out of this sleeping still

Some hunters lay chase

To a bird coloured pearl

Who tried to escape in haste

She thought that this was the end

One after another

They came and lumbered

And scare the little bird away

When the girl had slept her fill

She woke and turned to face

A bird that flew shriek and shrill

It landed her in her embrace

She finally had someone to mend.
