I am unbeautiful;

Write me a love song.

I am your nemesis;

Come take my hand.

Dig out my secrets, my dirt and fragility;

Know my nobility as I try to stand.

My path is power in pain,

bullet to brain to brilliance, and

I lack that packaged appeal,

but I'm back with a real resilience, and

I'm not afraid

of the choices I've made,

or the charms that I've chosen to hide.

No, I'll never care

'cause there's someone out there

who will fall for the freak I am inside.

I am unbeautiful;

Write me a love song.

I am your nemesis;

Come take my hand.

Dig out my ego, my pride and my poet;

Heed my heroics, right here where I stand.

My goodness is worth a hell of a lot;

more than they thought, considering this

contrast of justice and crime

lurking behind my conscience, and

I'm not afraid

to be the one that they hate,

or to let fallibilities show.

For the one who can prize

someone ugly as I

will see through to the good that I own.

I am unbeautiful;

Write me a love song.

I am your nemesis;

Come take my hand.

Dig out my humanity, the pure and profanity;

Seek out my sanity as I start to stand.

I am unbeautiful;

Write me a love song

And soon I'll be waiting

to come take your hand.

Dig out my humanity, the pure and profanity;

Seek out my sanity as I start to stand.
