A.N. - Y'know, I'd post a file of me singing this, but it's low quality and embarrassing. Hope you enjoy it anyway.
Dejection Ode
I sing my dejection ode
to the stars above
I sing my dejection ode
and wait for the day I am loved.
I sit here all alone now
but the past, it still haunts me.
I stare at the television
and see my eyes staring back, empty.
I wait by the phone now
but your voice is inside of me.
I crawl into bed late at night
and see dreams of calamity,
I sing my dejection ode
to the stars above
I sing my dejection ode
and wait for the day that I am loved.
I am going through the motions
but your presence still follows me
I sit at my desk all day
and contemplate my futility.
I sit down to eat dinner
that you did not prepare for me
Wash the plate in the sink
and try to scrub away your memory.
I sing my dejection ode
to the stars above
I sing my dejection ode
and wait for the day I am loved.
And you've been gone so long
You will never come back to me.
So I sit all alone
and I wonder what could've been.
I sing my dejection ode
to the stars above
I sing my dejection ode
and wait for the day that I am loved
I sign my dejection ode
and hope you here it above.
I sing my dejection ode
and wait for the day that I can love.
