Chapter 5- Fish
The mood in the car had gotten very tense, so Kallista decided to change subject.
"So how have you been? Still in the 'Honeymoon' phase?"
Felicity quirked an eyebrow. "No, Kally, we're in the 'Let's just enjoy what's happening right now' phase. Trying to put stages on a relationship cheapens it."
"I guess that true. You really do love this guy…Shame that's all we know about him, though. " A grin began to tug at her mouth. "Pardon my asking—"
"I didn't even say anything."
"I know that look on your face. Whatever it is, the answer is no."
"Oh, come on. I'm offering free services, which include a car ride and a stay in my own humble abode!" Felicity knew Kallista still drove the car with magic, but seeing her in the driver's seat just flailing her arms around—an animated speaker, she was—while they were going 60 miles per hour was still unsettling. "Not only that, I am thinking about trying to patch things up for you in the coven…but see, I'm real hurt by your blowing me off to prance around with him, and now you have the nerve to not spill about…" She trailed off, crossing her arms and thinking. "What was his name again?"
"Right, and now you won't even answer this one question I have? As of the 21st century, this relationship is all take and no give. I should totally flush your friendship bracelet down the toilet."
"…You still have it? The one I gave you when we were ten?"
"Of course I do." With a very solemn face, she pulled her jacket sleeve up to show off the simple woven bracelet, a tiny but detailed carving of a fish dangling off of it. Magic must have kept it from fraying apart over the centuries.
"…What were you going to ask?"
The grin returned. "You been to third base or has he not made a home run?"
"I don't believe you." Fell smacked her forehead with a long-suffering look, while Kallista burst into of laughter.
"Then believe in the fact that I believe in you."
"What I believe is that you want to know what we've been doing together so bad, yet you don't even know his name."
"Well of course now I do!"
"Alright, what is it?"
"…Nolan…Nelson…Something." Felicity said nothing in reply, just blinked at her. "That's wrong, isn't it?"
"Close, but no cigar. It's still just Neil, and we haven't done anything with clothes off. Ever."
"Ah." Kallista shrugged. "Well, I knew it's an 'N' name."
"You at least retained that much." Felicity had to stop herself from clapping sarcastically as they pulled up to Kallista's home, which was basically two stories of witch laboratory on the inside, right down to the compound underground, but a quiet suburban home on the outside.
"KO'd Boyfriend is enough of a name for him."
"Just help me get him out of the car, Kallista." She moved an arm to Neil's shoulders, keeping the other on his compress.
"Aye, aye, Captain."
Review, and a hostage chapter will be released. :D
