Just a short little poem, reflecting on a year of mine tainted with darkness. Written August 2011.

Inside jokes, best friends.

Rumors, lies, how it ends.

A friendship lost, an enemy gained.

Loneliness, silence, months of pain.

Unanswered questions better left unsaid.

Guilt, denial, "it's all in your head".

A flicker of hope, extinguished once more.

Happiness shows me my way to the door.

A broken soul, a fractured heart.

I never imagined we'd be torn apart.

A chance at love, shot down forever.

This rapport repaired? Not now, not ever.

Take away one lesson from this, if you must:

Never rely on the ones you "trust".
