AN: Hello dear readers! Here I am with a new story! If any of you guys have read A Man Worth a Damn before, I want to say, in a way it's the same story, same characters, however, I have had new inspiration which means that majority of the plot is going to change. Therefore, I decided to delete the old story, and publish it as a new one, because in a way it is! This story contains sexual adult themes and strong language in the following chapters. Don't say you weren't warned!
I ran faster.
This was so not so supposed to happen!
"It's simple, really," Andrew, my dad's PA said. "All you do is go there and act like you have a document which Mr X has asked from us. When you see him, shoot to kill and walk away. We don't need anything from him other than his life."
I nodded. "Where am I going to meet him?"
Andrew nodded at my efficiency. "In south London. There is a warehouse which is going to be demolished in a few days-it has been empty for a few years. I have already told Mr X that it is the best place to meet."
I hooked my fingers though the belt loops of my jeans and looked at Andrew. "Is Mr X my only target? What if there're more people there?"
Andrew picked an invisible dust particle from his desk and smiled coolly at me. "There will be no other men. Mr X will be on his own."
"If there are, do I kill them?" I asked.
Andrew shook his head. "No. We don't want to attract too much attention."
I sighed and nodded. "Fine. I'll give you a call afterwards," I said as I walked to the door with the document detailing Mr X, in my hand.
"Good. If we don't hear from you within 24 hours, we'll assume the worst."
I laughed. "You'll hear from me, Andrew. Don't you worry you little head over that."
Now, I wasn't so sure. Maybe I should have been less sure about my survival skills. I ran, as I tried to think of what my next course of action should be. I was told not to kill any unexpected visitors, and if you went against an order, you paid for it dearly. I really didn't want to go through the torturous training and beating but, if it was that or death, I'd choose that.
I carried on running and could hear the five men who had been hiding in the shadows breathe harshly as they struggled to catch up with me. That was good. I was fit and I was young. The men behind me weren't old, but they were older than me and clearly not as fit.
I picked up speed and after a few minutes realised that a few of the men fell behind. They could have just shot me, but they were selfish. They wanted to catch me and torture and probe for information. The stupid fools. I tried to run faster but even I was starting to tire.
I turned a corner and ran into a man on a motorbike. He had his helmet on but his head turned to me, which meant he was looking at me. I panicked.
"Please get me out of here," I said and without waiting for a response jumped on the back of his black, shiny bike. He sped off the moment I wrapped my arms around his waist.
He is fit, said the voice in my mind which just cared about getting laid. His stomach was hard under my hands. I closed my eyes as we sped away from the men who would never guess what had hit them.
After about ten minutes of driving at 75mph in the back streets of London, he slowed down and finally came to a stop somewhere unfamiliar to me. I was off the bike and a few steps away from him the moment it had stopped.
The man who was fit and rode a bike so very professionally, took off his black helmet and gave me a once over.
I shivered under his gaze. He had a face to match his stomach-what? What the hell was I saying?
Finally, meeting my eyes, he gave me a slow grin which made my heartbeat increase. Oh, this man was hot and could burn!
His eyes were a dark navy and his hair a very dark brown, it almost looked black. He had high cheekbones and a straight nose. His lips weren't too thin nor too full, and shaped perfectly for a man who wanted to kiss his way to anything. I wanted to touch those lips and feel them everywhere, all over my body.
I stopped my pervert thoughts and glared at him. "Like what you see?" I asked, with a hand on my leather clad hip.
His eyes left mine to travel down. They stopped at my bosom and he licked his lips slowly. "As a matter of fact, I do."
I tried to stop the tingles that were travelling all over my body and kept up my glare. "Thanks for the help. I can pay you for the petrol, if you want." Changing the topic seemed like the best idea or I would have jumped his bones.
He shook his head, and his navy eyes were twinkling with something wicked. "I don't need money," he said.
"Well, that's all I can offer you," I said and started to walk away. I knew we were close to a main road because I could hear cars.
He stopped me with a hand on my arm. It sent flashes of desire all through my body and I barely contained a sigh. "Hey. Why don't you buy me a beer?"
I thought about it a moment. "Why don't I?" I finally said.
"Okay, let's go this way. There are lots of great pubs here."
I walked next to him, realising that he was quite tall, about 6ft1 and had a swagger that nobody could fake. I nearly drooled. Oh, man, I really needed to get laid. "Where are we?" I asked.
"Upper Street," he said easily.
Okay. Upper Street was as safe as any street could be. It was always alive, day and night and buzzing with people. "You're not from around here, are you?" I finally asked, noticing he had a different accent to mine.
He looked at me and grinned. "You're right. I'm actually from the US. But I know the area well; I've been here nearly a month."
"Are you here on holiday?" I asked.
He shook his head. "Business."
I didn't ask him his business because that would lead him to asking mine and I really didn't want to talk about how I killed people without even knowing the reason for it.
"Staying for long?" I asked.
He shook his head and held the door of a dimly lit pub for me. "No. I'm leaving tomorrow evening, actually."
I smiled as I sat on a bar stool. "You must be happy to be going back."
He nodded. "Two beers, please," he said to the woman behind the bar. "Yeah, can't wait to get back," he said to me after the beers were in front of us. "London is nice but not a city for me."
I had travelled a lot, for holidays, but more for business. I knew what he meant. Coming back to the city I was so used to was always a relief.
"So, who were those men you were running from?" he asked, suddenly.
"You saw them?" I asked.
"It's the only reason I let a stranger on my bike. They were taking aim at you when they realised you were going to get on the bike."
I nodded sadly. I guess they thought killing me without getting any information was better than letting me get away. "Thanks again, for that."
He realised I didn't answer his question. "Are you running from the law?" he asked.
I shook my head. It was true. The law didn't even know that the 21 year old Ada Christine was out and about, killing people from the black market. All they knew was that the 21 year old Ada Christian was in university studying Law. Thanks to dad, everything was sorted. "Nope. Those guys were not law, trust me."
He shook his head and laughed. "You're in the black market?"
I shrugged. "Not really." He seemed quite comfortable talking about illegal markets and people taking aims at each other...I tried to ignore that.
Those navy eyes searched my face, but I was used to being scrutinised and had a neutral expression on my face. "Who cares?" he mumbled, more to himself than to me. He drank his pint and ordered another.
"I'm gonna just use the restroom," I said and rose.
When I was safely away from everyone, I dialled Andrew's number. "Target is dead. Five unexpected men came, but I didn't hurt any. I'm fine, going home to sleep a little. I will tell you the details tomorrow." I shut the phone after leaving the message and walked back to my seat.
The man who had saved my life seemed to be in an intimate conversation with the woman behind the bar. I sat down in my stool and he turned to me.
"If I pay for the drinks now, can I go home?" I asked.
He shook his head. "Of course not. I don't let women pay on the first date. Or any date."
"This is not a date."
He shook his head. "Yes it is."
I glared at him. "Don't you have a girlfriend?"
He shrugged. "I do. It's more like, friends with benefits, though. And I haven't seen her for a month."
I opened and closed my mouth. What could I say to that? "Well, fuck-buddy, or not, you shouldn't be dating others while you're with her."
"If I called and broke up with her, you'll allow this to be a date?"
I laughed at him. "You're ridiculous. I'm not gonna be the reason you break up with her."
His eyes bored into mine. "Will you let me take you home?" he asked, his voice quiet and deep. I held back a shiver.
"I don't think so. I'm sure she'll be willing, though," I nodded towards the woman behind the bar. She was well endowed, blonde, tall and more than willing. I was neither; normal boobs, brunette, average height and...okay I was willing too, but he didn't know that. I was not going to just have sex-
"I don't want her," he said, breaking into my thoughts.
I don't know what it was; getting so close to death, being sexually starved or plain stupid but I smiled. "Good."
A wicked glint lit his dark eyes and he closed the distance between us, capturing my mouth with his in the next moment. I got off my stool, with our lips still connected and stood between his long legs. My arms went around his neck and I pressed myself into him. I knew that we were in a public place and even though it was a pub, there were some families around, so I pulled away, a little breathless.
Hell, more breathless than I had been after than ten minute run for my life!
"You didn't even tell me your name," I told him.
He shrugged. "Who cares? I don't know yours, either."
"You're just a stranger," I mumbled, kissing those sinful lips again.
"Uh-huh," he murmured and rose from his seat. After putting a £20 on the bar, he took my hand and walked out. "You're not gonna take me home?" he asked.
I shook my head. "It's too far."
He shrugged. "A shame. I would have loved to take you in a bed, but we'll make do."
I grinned at his straightforwardness. "So discreet about your intentions," I laughed.
He led me into darker streets. I followed, without hesitating. This man could have let me die, he wasn't about to murder me now. And if he tried, he'd have a surprise waiting for him.
We stopped in a street that the back doors of businesses led to. There were a few cars and a few broken street lights, but other than that, it was deserted. Stranger pushed me against a thick, concrete pillar and pushed one of his legs between mine. I bit my lip to stop my moan from escaping but Stranger quickly kissed my mouth to take over that responsibility. I grabbed his hair and kissed him with all I had.
His hands went under my black, tank top and he cupped one of my breasts through my bra. I gasped when his fingers skimmed over my sensitive nipple and moaned into his mouth. I arched my back to give him further access and whimpered when he pushed my bra down and touched me properly.
He rocked his hips against mine, making me shake in desire.
"No foreplay," I said quickly when he pulled away for breath. "Now, please!"
He chuckled deeply and his hands went to the zip on the back of my tight, leather pants. He pushed it down and lowered the pants. I took it off one foot and was too impatient for the other. I wrapped my legs around his waist and lifted myself, my back still against the pillar. I moaned when my sensitive skin came in touch with his rough jeans.
If he didn't enter me soon, I would be sobbing and begging.
But Stranger didn't waste any time. He pushed down his zipper and in the next instant entered me.
I nearly screamed, but once again, his mouth covered mine before I could.
I whimpered as he started to move and clung to his shoulders. After a few more strokes, I shattered into a million pieces. My eyes were shut tightly as it rocked through my soul. I could dimly hear myself scream and Stranger's rough chuckle before he joined me and I think I passed away momentarily.
When I opened my eyes, my legs were still around his waist and arms around his neck. His head was buried in the crook of my shoulder and he was breathing heavily.
"That was amazing," I mumbled before kissing the side of his neck.
He lifted his head and grinned. "I haven't had anyone complain before."
I laughed and unwrapped my jelly legs so that I could get down. He held me a few more seconds until he was sure that I could stand. In the next few minutes we both tried to get dressed quickly and fix ourselves up for the public eye.
As we started to walk back, towards where we had left his bike, Stranger stopped me. "You were amazing. Thanks for giving me something to think over while on the plane tomorrow."
I smiled at him and touched the side of his lips. "It was my pleasure."
He kissed me then. This time it was a soft, gentle kiss with no hurry. I don't know how long we kissed, our tongues in an intimate dance. But when he pulled away, I knew this stranger was going to go back to America with a small piece of my heart. I sighed and pulled away.
"Thanks for saving my life," I said.
"If you need rescuing again, give me a call." He winked. "Do you want a ride home?"
I shook my head. "No. It's in the outskirts of London, I'll take a cab. Thanks, though."
He touched my cheek with the back of his fingers. "I wish I met you earlier."
I laughed, and with one more small kiss, walked away. "Goodbye, Stranger," I said without looking back.
