Graduation Lament

Dedicated to the New England College Class of 2008 Written May 9,2008

Covered Bridge

it stands in the distance

it represents coming and going

the past and the future

Four years ago

we walked across it

about to start our college life

I didn't know what to expect

or who I would meet

and who would change my life.

In less then twenty four hours

we will all cross the bridge again

leaving this place

that we've grown so fond of

down by the river that runs away with our dreams

Tomorrow I cross that covered bridge

from there I start a new phase of my life.

I don't even know where to begin

As I travel down paths of the unknown again.

So many songs can relate to the theme of graduation

music is always an infatuation

no matter what the time of year

Seasons of Love represents four years of friendship

and asks how do you measure a year in the life?

the song that particularly stands out

is What I Did For Love from A Chorus Line

because I certainly won't forget can't regret what I did for love

Say goodbye to all the good times

but keep them with you always

I know I will

Thanks to all my friends for being there

you've truly changed me for the better
