Do the Small Feel Pain?
Another wave is coming
Only those with the strongest
Resolves will stay.
I will, but my daughters
What's coming will catch them anyway.
Wish for death sooner rather than later.
At least when you know it's coming.
Do not spend the rest of your life running
From the inevitable.
At last the wave breaks -
The first carries me away, mere water.
But thick, viscous, yellow pursues...
Plunging after the water with deepest purpose...
It's after us.
It scalds my skin, it burns me so!
And as the light fades from the bathroom's bulb
As the Big One is shutting the lid,
The bleach carries me down the U-bend,
Screaming, into blissful oblivion.
