As I calmly drive down this lonely street,
I see you looking out the side window.
As our favorite song is on repeat,
I tell you everything you need to know.
I tell you the best places to go shop.
I show you which exits will take you home.
I tell you where there is always a cop.
I show you which parks are the best to roam.
Then suddenly your image starts to fade.
I try to at least keep your smile in mind,
But your image continues to degrade,
Then even your thought could not be defined.
As I surely drive down this lonely road,
I feel the pain that I have been bestowed.
