I looked up as the Council dispersed.

"Avion, come here," Theodan said to me, seeming conflicted.

Immediately, I felt like something was wrong.

Was Lideus in trouble? Is that why she wasn't at the meeting? Had I failed my duties?

"Relax, I only have a small favor to ask you."

My stomach felt queasy. "What do you need, Theo?"

"Earth Nation has asked for us to ally with them. I have to ask you to travel there to decline. We cannot be involved with their conflicts any longer."

I nodded, silent.

Theodan smiled at me, pulling me into a hug.

"Be careful, Avion. You need to leave tonight."

I nodded again. "Of course, my King. I will be gone before eight."

He nodded before letting go of me and leaving to find his wife, Mercius.

I turned around, thinking I was alone. I leaned against the wall, sighing deeply.

"Do you normally neglect your duties to Princess Lideus like this, Avion?"

My eyes snapped open to see Prince Demascus watching me. His neon electric blue eyes met my pitch black ones and my heartbeat quickened.

"N-No, sir."

"Are you worried?" He mused after a moment, looking at me.

I paused, contemplating for a moment. "Yes, but not for myself. I am concerned for Mistress Lideus' safety while I am away."

"You should only be gone a week - two at most," Demascus replied, frowning slightly at me.

"Have you ever slept with a man?" I asked softly.

Demascus froze, looking at me in shock.

I hadn't meant to ask, but it came out. I couldn't back down now.

"No, Avion," he answered, even more quiet.

I smiled, nodding slightly. "I...should go now, fair Prince. Nightfall is fast approaching."

He nodded to dismiss me.

I bowed generously before exiting.

'Now would be time to initiate my plan,' I thought to my self, making my way to the forest to travel. It was the quickest way anyway.

I stepped into the forest near seven that night, ignoring my surroundings. Seconds later, I heard howling in the distance and a blood curdling scream. I froze in my tracks, but only for a moment.

I knew those sounds. It was the werewolves in the forest, Prince Jashoenah included.

The screaming was that of their victims.

(to Raaawr Ima Dinosaur): :D I'm glad someone liked it. I wasn't really sure if it would be any good or not. It's my first time (and probably last) doing anything in the fantasy/sci-fi/mythological world and such...
