I sit in the room, waiting for Eric to return. Eric then enters the room. Even though his injuries have healed, he is still stained with blood.
"Is he…" I begin. "He's dead. You're safe for now," Eric says. "So what are we going to do now?" I ask.
"I don't know. You're never going to be safe. You know that right? As long as you have that blood type, vampires will always be after you," Eric states.
"So what are we going to do?" I ask. "I can do two things. I can either give you a mercy kill or turn you into a vampire," Eric reveals.
"I don't want to die but I don't want the curse that is being a vampire," I say. "I know. But I'm going to leave it up to you," Eric says.
I think about it for a minute. I don't want to die! I'm only seventeen! But I also don't want to become like Eric. But there is good in him so maybe if I were to become a vampire I could retain my humanity and maybe save him.
"Ok I want you to turn me," I say. "Are you sure that is what you want?" Eric asks. "Yes, I'm sure," Jess says. "Alright, give me your hand," Eric orders.
I obediently hold out my hand. Eric pulls out a knife and cuts mine. I cry out in pain. "What are you doing?" I ask. Eric ignores me and cuts his own hand. Blood drips out of it as he holds it above mine. His blood enters my body.
It burns me as it seeps into me. I scream and fall to the ground. Pain enters me, everywhere. I then pass out.
I wake up, hours later. I feel stronger and rejuvenated. Eric helps me to my feet. "How do you feel?" he asks me. "Hungry," I say.
"Alright, let's go hunting," Eric then opens the window and jumps out. I follow him, obediently.
