studying the stars with
microscopes & slides,
take a sample of venus & cross it
with quicksilver, empty the vial of
poison into her drink &
salivate over the thought of
whole new worlds brought on,
brought forth, tie her knots &
unhook her straps & adore the
idea of another universe out there,
yours for the taking
& when you're digging a grave
& tossing her in it, despise the idea that
you're alone now &
forever
