When I walked into the doors of the middle school I breathed in and immediately headed toward my friends who were waiting for me by the new locker assignments. As I walk down toward them I greet them with a warm smile and a wave. Both the friends laugh and give me a side hug, as all friends should when reuniting. I turn around and head to the little white paper that hangs by the school lockers. I have locker 71, which is located by the steps, which was called the "village steps". Quickly I threw all my junk into the locker and I slammed it shut and headed toward my friends who were now introducing themselves to two new kids. I walked up to them and as my shy nature took over I just stood and gave smiles to the kids. Then she walks in. Her brown hair is just as it was and she is dressed like as if she were a workingwoman at a job interview. All I can manage is a simple glare stricken glance that I pass to her as she walks by. She knees down at her locker and she puts her assortment of binders in it. I ignore her and continue to stand with my hands crossed listening to the two kids names.

The two choir teachers announce its time to head to the village steps and as we all walk together over there I see him; the boy with the brown eyes. He is talking with a new kid and his other friend. He doesn't seem to take notice of her when she walks by and sets herself down by her friends. Something has changed, their once friendship was now gone. When I looked back once more to take a quick glance at the boy he looks down at me and gives me a smile. Being shy all I can do is turn around and try to hide the blush that was now slapped onto my face. The announcements to the new school year were filled with excitement and lots of cheer. I looked around to see old and new faces from the past year. When it was announced that it was time to head to our classes I took one last glance at the boy with the brown eyes and smiled, then walked off.

My first class was a history class and our teacher was some older lady who didn't take misbehaved kids well. Being shy and unspoken I sat quietly and listened to her talk about what we would do this year. Every class did this I had little patients and couldn't wait for all the new exciting stuff to happen. However I didn't know that the boy with brown eyes actually had feelings for me and I would reject his feelings causing history to set in place my tragic love story.

The days passed with me learning about all the new things and math because of the slight dyslexia I had was confusing. History I passed with A's because I was a good student, and English was a tough course because of the teacher. My friends and I had great times and the boy with brown eyes kept giving me glances. My friends began to tease me about how he liked me all I did was blush. During P.E he would try to be helpful and ask if he could help me in any ways but I rejected him and told him no. I didn't even notice the hurt that entered his eyes each and every time I told him that. I was a fool for yelling at the boy with brown eyes; all he ever did was care about me. As weeks went on to pass I made friends with the boys in my science class and my feelings for the boy with brown eyes only increased with each passing second that he was there. When he looked at me my heart nearly stopped, my breathing increased, and I could feel my cheeks turn hot with the blush that burned underneath my skin.

When I joined track I ran the sprints and it was a fun experience. All the people I got to talk to before a race because I got nervous. But the one memory that is burned into my mind forever and forever more is the day I ran my hardest and won. I went to get my jacket but waiting for me were her, and the friends of the boy with brown eyes and him. They all gave me high fives but the boy with brown eyes wanted to give me something with more meaning, a hug. But being me I said no and when I got my jacket I turn around and who is standing there with his arms outstretched? The boy with the brown eyes. He gave me a hug that seemed to last and eternity when in reality it was only for merely seconds. I couldn't believe it and this was only the beginging.
