Epilogue

Talon's body lay very still on the hard floor of the warehouse. He wasn't too far from the flames that were burning his father to a cinder. His chest wound was wide open, but it had ceased bleeding a while ago. The smoke filled the room and sirens could be heard in the distance.

Talon's fingers twitched, his body slowly coming back to life. He began breathing again and his wound closed up, leaving a very nasty looking scar in its place. His breathing picked up and his fingers continued to twitch.

His eyes snapped open quickly. Where he once had beautiful cloudy grey eyes, there was now two black as night eyes that were stone like and cold. Talon was back.

He slowly began to rise from the floor, moving carefully. He didn't know how strong he was at this point and he didn't want to hurt himself. Lailie had already done enough of that for him. He moved slowly and carefully with each step toward the door.

He made it out and took a deep breath, taking in the clean outside air. He walked swiftly away from the burning building towards the woods. He would need to feed to get his strength back. He pushed his black hair off his face and scanned the immediate area for his feast.

He saw a fine specimen and launched himself onto the unsuspecting woman. He bit down on the base of the woman's throat and sucked her dry. She didn't even have time to scream. He dropped her to the ground and walked away casually as if nothing had happened.
