Cast iron lamps
Fire my soul
With a single glance
Quite the looks of
The love-struck and distressed
Gazing at the ceiling
With tired eyes
Wishing that the cock crowed thrice
To get this over with
Damning evidence of fire
Charred and burned this house
Which is no longer a home
Lake steams the skin
So that sweat never seemed so cold
Even in the warmth of an embrace
Just breaking free to desire
My heart walls ever ready
For fibrillation
Now if someone could just beat it back...
