Objects Upon the Writing Desk

A stapler, a pencil,

a mug of writing implements,

half a scissor,

a post card,

a lone rubber band,

a broken rainbow headband,

an empty plastic bag,

a figurine of a dead rabbit,

a discarded post-it,

a dusty soccer trophy,

a ball of yarn, a half-finished scarf,

a college testing booklet,

a sharpie, a roll of tape,

God knows what THAT thing is,

a Popsicle stick, a scrap of paper,

a long silver screw,

a faded photograph of a smiling child,

and a broken pocket watch.

Written over a year ago. I was inspired (by what I cannot recall) to write a list-poem about objects on my desk.
