You're hacking away
at a dry well, my friend.
Don't you ever give up?
Just drop your heavy burden,
let it roll away

Climb those misty mountains,
free from this huge weight
that isn't even yours.
Think of all the free time you'd have
if you stopped worrying about me

I'm a lost cause, but you're not
so drop the shovel,
stop trying to dig me up,
focus on your own neglected life.

My friend, you have so much left
to live for
