A dichotomy of difference

To horizon and beyond

A view of tragic development

Through ages that have gone

Trees that stand, far older than the buildings

Are held inferior to the tallest chimney stack.

Fenced in by draping cables –

A prison created by power

Punctuated and reinforced by the two

Dark cooling towers.

Behind the glass, stare at it all

One can almost wish to stay separate from

Such madness or else be consumed.
