A free-verse poem (only my second ever) with a much lighter theme than what I usually write about. Written October 2011.

Don't speak.

I want to hear
the rhythm of your heartbeat
as I press my head
against your chest.

Don't move.
I want to feel
your warm breath on my neck
your sweet lips against mine
your gentle fingers as they trace circles on my skin.

Don't blink.

I want to see
your chest as it rises and falls
your smile widening as you pull me closer
your eyes filled with happiness and, equally, bliss.

Don't leave.

I want to be
the only one you think about
the one you've always dreamed about

the one you forever love.
