Paths with no humans walked upon,
empty feeling midst the air,
the tension of being left all alone-
I walk this lonely pathway
the heart's missing voices lingering on,
echoing on forever
with a whisper soon not to be heard again.
I watch my life's memories fading away,
erasing, rewriting what has been.
a heart that has been hurt too many times
can choose to take a road of no return:
To truly forget everything that happened in the life
unworthy of being remembered;
But that includes
the laughter, the smile, the tears
that through it all taught us something new.
