The cold damp earth beneath me chills my blood.
I want to beat with warmth and compassion,
But all I have is solitude in mud,
Buried deep in eternal damnation.
Dark, cold, and alone, I lay on the floor
Only to feel the chill take me over.
I cry, but no one hears me anymore,
No one feels my deepest hidden fervor.
My beat is slowing with each passing day,
And with it the compassion I once I had.
I keep searching my small cage for a way
Because this hopelessness might turn me mad.
I hold on by a thread, just keep beating,
Just keep waiting, just keep waiting… waiting…
