The Anarchists

Five years ago, in this very city we reside in, we were all reaching our hands out for someone to pull us out of pandemonium. This pandemonium was lead by the devil himself, Governor Charlton Beineix. Originally from France, Gov. Beineix was raised to his position of Governor through "elimination" means and killed any of his opponents who stood in his way. He already owned much of the law due to his ties with the mafia and his threats to all the families of the police, so even without killing, becoming Governor was simple. He was a totalitarian but denied it and made everyone else deny it. "Corrupt" couldn't even begin to describe how cruel his ruling over our city was. From the beating and raping of our mothers and children, to the torturing and tormenting of our fathers, our history had a chapter titled "Evil Empire". No one was bold enough to stand up to this man's greed and sinful nature. Except one.

On July 16, 5 years ago, the head of the police department, Werner Smyth, went missing and was last spotted at a local laundromat. They found him 3 days later in Beineix's car with bulletholes in his kneecaps. He also got his face smashed in by a bat and the infamous anarchy symbol spray painted on his chest along with the blood flowing from his face. Beineix was furious, and deep down, petrified. No one had ever gone against him like this and no one was able to do in it such a brutal manner. The police were looking everywhere for culprit and they even tortured many of the residents to get an answer out of them. Then the second act came. As if he was Karma in its human form two days later, the notorious Judge Julio Payne was murdered by a drive-by shootout performed in an armored car. By now, the city's morale grew and the whole city started committing crimes against Beineix. It grew so much, that an organization called "The Condemned" started and became most famous for their "Tethercar" murder where they hung a corrupt deputy, I couldn't find the name sorry, to a light pole and ran into him multiple times.

Beineix then started to fight fire with fire and fought dirty. Eventually, one of the main headquarters for "The Condemned" was found in an abandoned warehouse near the docks and while exiting the building to go back to leading their double lives, their truck was blown to smithereens and 4 men died with it. Finally, it was time to meet face to face and the leader of these organizations promised that if Beineix steps down out of the office, he will turn himself in. Beineix agreed to do so, claiming he "just wants his people to stop suffering". Finally, the Beineix and the culprit named Timothy Charbanic met face to face. Just as Timothy was about to surrender, Beineix made his gang aim their guns at him and fire. Beineix thought he had won, and so did the audience. But then, Beineix was shot through the heart with a rifle far away. It's still unknown to this day who killed Beineix.

And so it ended for both Beineix and Charbanic. Beineix's right hand man, Patrick Wagner, took his place as Governor and the anarchist's legacy has ended. Or so we believe. It's still a mystery whether or not Charbanic was really the leader of the group or if he even died. There was no autopsy for Charbanic nor was there a funeral known to the public, so there's no real evidence that he died. Some say they didn't give him one because of his heinous crimes and they just buried him in a nearby dump. Other conspiracists believe that Charbanic is still alive and looking after the city. Some even say that one of Beineix's own killed him. Patrick Wagner wasn't present during his murder and it is unknown where he was during that time. Did Wagner kill Beineix or some other mystery member of "The Condemned"? Is Charbanic still alive and if he is, what is he doing? Has the legacy of "The Condemned" continued after Beineix's death? We may never know, but for now, all we can do-

The bell rang. Everyone was waiting to hear it.

"Alright, class is dismissed. Don't forget that ALL of you will be presenting your history report, and don't think I won't call on you for your turn."

Jesse started to walk out of class until his professor stopped him.

"Hold on Jesse. I need to talk to you."

"About what?"

The professor sat onto his chair and rested his elbow on his desk. He took his two fingers and started to rub the top of his nose in between his eyebrows in embarrassment.

"There's no way I can accept that report. You've gotta write about something else."

"What are you talking about? I spent hours just to find this information."

"I asked you to give me a report on a very important part of history in Balbrook and…" The professor picked up his report. Jesse was questioning where he was going with this conversation.

"Is that not an important part of history for you?" said Jesse.

"Did you have to go into such detail?" Jesse was still confused.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, you didn't have to explain so much about the murders. The Tethercar one alone made the class cringe up."

"It's still history. We can deny it all we want, we know it happened."

"My point is Jesse-"

"Yes, please get to the point." The professor was getting upset with his tone of voice.

"You need to ease up a little on your assignments. Every single one I got from you is either violent or filled with hatred one way or another. Is there something bothering you?"

Jesse didn't really like talking about his past and didn't like it when people asked him if he was mad. It just made him even madder.

"What's bothering me is that you can't accept this paper that took me five days to type non-stop."

"It was supposed to be 3 pages and you only made it 2. 5 days is more than enough for finishing that."

"Why do you always criticize me?"

"I'm just saying that you can do better if you calm down a little."

"Calm down? I am calm! You're the one who is being-"

"Jesse, don't raise your voice to me."

"Who do you think you are, my father? And what are you gonna if I raise my voice? What are you-"

"GET OUT!"

There was a moment of silence between them. Finally, Jesse begin to speak, until the Professor interrupted him.

"You're in college for crying out loud! You sound like you just came out of the 4th grade! I know when you're that young you think you can do what you want, but this is MY classroom and you follow MY rules! Am I clear?" Jesse didn't respond but rather looked at him in disgust.

"I'm trying to help you, but I don't see how I can if you keep arguing with me."

"You can't help me. I don't need any of your bullshit to lighten my mood." Jesse stormed out and took his report with him.
