I sit here in the dim light
That floats down from the ceiling,
I look up to see dancing flames
Spreading like adrenaline,
I feel the heat against my back
As I sprint through the halls,
I wonder as I run
If anything else can go wrong,
For a minute it seems like
The exit's fading away,
But I burst through the flames
And decide not to stay,
I kick down the door
Of the life I once knew,
I could barely tell the difference
Between the lies that were true,
I remember well
When I used to have the key,
When I once played with fire
Until the fire played with me.
