New Dawn, Reprise
Author:
I Can See The Sun PM
A sequel of sorts to "New Dawn", except written from the other side. I know both sides of the story in a break-up, and I'm still moving on. This is for the ones who can't.

So I'm lying here, on the other side of the line

What goes around will always come around in time

I hope you're happy now we're on the same page

But don't make a mistake and think this means a change

X

I've been through the things I put you through

I've seen the moment where everything came untrue

And I came out the other side knowing it's for the best

And I moved on instead of becoming an emotional mess

X

You're not better than me, I'm not better than you

We have to be tough if we want to make it through

It might have hurt at the time, but we wouldn't last

Without that pain, we'd both be falling fast

I shouldn't pretend to love you just to make you smile

And you shouldn't love me unless you wanna live in denial

You might think I've changed, but I was just moving on

So let's walk away and keep searching for that new dawn

X

You never saw the signs when you tried to read my mind

Were you really suprised at the end when I left you behind?

I know you've felt wretched for the last couple of years

But don't blame me when I tried to spare us from our fears

X

And don't think the hurt you felt only belongs to you

I didn't see it coming at all, but now I've got a clue

Wanting someone back before having to face the facts

You can't change someone's heart no matter how you attack

X

I didn't see the signs when my world came crashing down

I couldn't find the light when darkness was all around

But when you've hit rock bottom, the only way is up

If you haven't learnt that yet, I'm sorry but I don't give a fuck

X

I didn't need to twist a razor because I'm not that far gone

Even though I felt the worst pain when I told her "So long"

I had my finger on the trigger and a fired straight into the sky

I didn't end my life when I found out that my love was a lie

X

So you keep telling yourself that you're suffering all alone

You keep telling yourself you'll fix yourself on your own

But sometimes it takes the harshest words in the end

To make you realize some people are better off as a friend

X

Some people just aren't meant to be together

And there's just no point staying broken forever

I don't expect you to find any solace in this song

I just want you to see the sun and embrace a new dawn

X

Trust me when I say

It's better off this way

And if you don't believe me

Know someone said it to me
