The Most natural fear of darkness
By: David Vincent
Darkness is always there causing fear, showing us things that are never there, giving us that we are being watched.
Always filling our hearts, and getting portrayed in our art.
It distorts and warps what we see and hear.
Our fears are real in the dark.
A laundry basket becomes a troll.
The darkness can make one think that they are not alone when they are.
It's always present in the absence of light.
It can cause children, and grown men alike to shake in fright, craving the presence of light.
This fear draws the creatures of the night.
They come in hoards to feed on the fears of the people who can not live without light.
Creatures of the night like darkness thrive in the absence of light.
Yet still you say I am insane, even though the fear of darkness is naturally human.
Now do you understand my need for light even at night?
