This was just something random my friends wanted me to write about. There's always this kid at lunch and on the bus that doesn't talk to anybody and nobody talks to him and they wanted me to write something about him.

Ignorance

Mindless chatter filled the room and everyone seemed to want to say something. Some could hardly keep themselves from cutting the person speaking off while others ate and waited patiently for them to finish. One stood out from the rest however.

He leaned back on his rough yellow chair and his face fixed into a cold stare aimed towards the world on the other side of the smudged window. He sat alone for no one dared to talk to him in fear of how he would react. When thinking of talking to him one can only visualize negative outcomes. He was the quiet one who spoke to nobody and nobody spoke to, the one most likely to bring a gun to school and start randomly shooting people.

Despite all of this, one brave soul got up from her seat and started to walk towards his table. Determination radiating from her more and more with each step closer she got to him. Only a small hint of nervousness could be seen in her dark blue eyes.

When she finally reached her destination the room went quiet and she could feel all eyes on her. They looked at her with confusion, pity and amusement. This only happened once a year and nobody wanted to miss it.

Poor freshmen, has to learn the hard way, the older ones thought smirking at the small girl.

"H-hey!" she greeted after plopping down in the seat in front of him. She could feel her confidence draining as he slowly moved his eyes to look at her not even bothering to turn his head.

The corners of his mouth went up slightly unnoticed by the girl that sat before him. Another victim.
