Rikako made it safely back home. After taking her shoes off at the genkan, she went into the living room, where her mom suddenly flailed her arms around her.
"Thank God you're all right, Rikako!" exclaimed Sachiyo, "I was starting to get worried about you."
"Is it because of the aliens?" asked Rikako.
"Yes," answered Sachiyo, "At the observatory, we discovered their spacecraft in orbit. Not before long, they sent a drone ship to begin the invasion. But it's not just Japan. It's all over the world."
"I knew they were planning to invade Earth," replied Rikako.
"I just don't understand," sighed Sachiyo, "why would these aliens want to attack this planet in the first place?"
"They probably have very sinister intentions," answered Rikako, "I think."
In the midst of the conversation, Rikako noticed that her mom is holding a cat.
"Aww," cooed Rikako, "that kitty is so cute! Where did you find it?"
"I rescued her on my way back home," answered Sachiyo, "thankfully, she's not hurt."
"Ok then," said Rikako, as she received the cat, "I'll be going upstairs to finish my homework."
"Oh that's right," replied Sachiyo, "I was going to tell you this, but the school just called; they are cancelling it until further notice."
"WHAT?" exclaimed Rikako.
"The aliens pose a serious threat to the entire world," replied Sachiyo, "this crisis is much worse than the earthquake we had over a century ago."
Rikako definitely remembered about the earthquake in Japan back in 2011. Without saying anything, Rikako carried the cat back to her room, where she pulled out her textbook and reviewed her answers on her homework. After a while, the cat came up to her.
"Oh," said Rikako, "is something the matter, kitty?"
"Nya?"
Rikako gently stroke the cat's head, causing her to purr. After a moment, the cat cuddled up to her.
"Hmm," said Rikako, "if I was going to keep you, I might have to give you a name."
"Nya? Nya?"
"But then," continued Rikako, "you don't seem like an ordinary cat at all."
"Nya!"
"I got it," exclaimed Rikako, "I'll name you Saki!"
"Nya nya nya!"
Meanwhile, back at the Kijumari cruiser, Lord Koji just killed off one of his officers for failure. It wasn't long before another Kijumari officers came in as commanded.
"General Shiku," said Lord Koji, "you said that humans don't stand a chance against us, and yet we sent out a fleet only to be destroyed in minutes! How do you explain this?"
"I believe we may have underestimated them," replied General Shiku.
"Send another reconnaissance team," commanded Lord Koji, "but this time, have them find anyone that will get in our way. Understand?"
"Understood."
The next day, Rikako has demonstrated to Saki about her abilities in her transformation.
"Nya nya!"
"Oh, so you're really impressed, Saki-chan?" asked Rikako.
Saki nodded.
Suddenly, Rikako noticed the exchange students and Daisuke from her school. She quickly approached them.
"Hey guys," said Rikako.
"Whoa!" exclaimed Olivia, as she noticed Rikako's transformation, "did you just cut your hair?"
"Uh, no," replied Rikako, "I'm on the lookout for the Kijumari. By the way, this is my cat, Saki."
"Oh," replied Isabel, "you mean the aliens that attacked Tokyo a few days ago?"
Rikako nodded.
"You see," said Brittany, "Olivia and I gathered the lot of us together so we can investigate these aliens and see if we can make a truce between them."
"I don't think we can make a truce," replied Daisuke.
"Definitely," replied Rikako, "the Kijumari are not here to negotiate, they're here to wipe out all of life on Earth!"
"Sucks," said Adilah.
"What's with the costume?" asked Wendy, "it looks expensive."
"It's not a costume," answered Rikako, "it's a battle suit!"
"Cosmic Lunar Fusion!" said Adilah all of a sudden.
Then, Adilah underwent the same transformation sequence as Rikako did. She was now wearing a battle suit similar to Rikako's, but it was embellished with a crescent moon, and it had shades of purple.
"Even you, Adilah?" exclaimed Rikako.
Adilah nodded.
"Something creepy is going on here," said Nereida.
"I'll bet the crystals give us some sort of powers!" replied Brittany.
"They are the crystals of the Spectrum Guardians," explained Rikako.
"Hold on," asked Isabel, "you said something about the Spectrum Guardians. Is it possible that we are Spectrum Guardians, too?"
"Let's try it out and see for ourselves!" answered Brittany.
Brittany held up her crystal in the air as if she's ready to get into the action. But then, she hesitated for a moment.
"Cosmic-, Uhh," asked Brittany, "do these crystals have the same elements or are they all different?"
"I think they're different," answered Olivia.
"Ok then," replied Brittany, "Cosmic Blue Fusion!"
However, Brittany's crystal did not respond. This led the other exchange students to laugh.
"Hey!" barked Brittany, "what's so funny?"
"Your crystal is obviously not in the right hands!" taunted Nereida.
"That's not exactly it, Nereida," retorted Isabel, "maybe it's because she didn't say it right."
"Then how am I supposed to say it?" whined Brittany.
"You got the first and last words of the phrase right," answered Rikako, "just don't say the color, say the element!"
"Well," asked Wendy, "what is the element associated with the color blue?"
"Well," answered Olivia, "there is water. You know, like aqua spring water?"
"Hey," exclaimed Brittany, "that fits perfectly! Cosmic Aqua Fusion!"
Finally, Brittany's crystal lit up, and then streams of water appeared and shaped Brittany's battle suit embellished with the water symbol and shades of blue. Also, her hair color is now turquoise instead of brown.
"Yay," cheered Brittany, "it worked! Hey Olivia, you should try it!"
"Get a grip, Brittany," retorted Olivia, "you're giving me the static electricity!"
"Is electricity an element?" asked Brittany.
"Come to think of it," answered Olivia, "it is! Cosmic Electro Fusion!"
Not a second later, Olivia's orange crystal summoned sparks of electricity, which shaped Olivia's battle suit. This one was embellished with the thunder symbol and had shades of orange.
"Ok," said Olivia, "my hair is orange now? This is really weird."
"I don't think it's weird," replied Isabel, "I've always loved the beautiful plants and nature since I was a child. I always wanted to take care of this beautiful green Earth."
"So what's your point?" asked Nereida.
"I'm sure that green is associated with the beautiful green Earth," answered Isabel, as she raised her green crystal in the air, "Cosmic Nature Fusion!"
Isabel's green crystal instantly summoned leaves and flowers to compose her battle suit. This one was embellished with the earth symbol and was colored shades of green.
"Wow," exclaimed Isabel, "this is so amazing! Hey, Nereida! If your favorite color is red, then what element is associated with it?"
"It's fire," answered Nereida, "don't give me stupid questions! I just want to see what Wendy looks like in a rainbow battle costume."
"No way!" retorted Wendy, "I'm not spilling even a single drop of blood!"
"But the Kijumari are going to spill even a lot more blood if we do nothing," replied Daisuke.
"I see," replied Wendy, "it's just that I'm afraid of hurting other people. It's too shameful!"
"Don't feel bad about it," replied Isabel, "we're just fighting the evil Kijumari."
"Screw this nonsense," said Nereida, "Cosmic Burning Fusion!"
Within an instant, Nereida shed her everyday outfit in flames to don a battle suit embellished with the fire symbol and shades of red.
"That's what I'm talking about!" exclaimed Nereida.
"Are we going to stand here all day and talk about magical girl stuff?" asked Daisuke.
"This isn't an anime convention," replied Rikako, "this is very serious!"
"3:00," said Adilah all of a sudden.
"It's 2:33, stupid," retorted Wendy.
Adilah instantly glared at Wendy in response.
"You do not want to insult a Muslim," said Olivia, pointing to the right, "she wasn't even talking about time. Look over there!"
Ahead, there were a couple of Kijumari fleets. It seems that they are doing a little snooping.
"It's about time they got here!" exclaimed Brittany, "I'm ready to kick their butts!"
Rikako, Nereida, Olivia, Isabel, Brittany and Adilah wasted no time in delivering the battle to the Kijumari fleet. As Rikako swung her key at the troops, the other Spectrum Guardians conjured a variety of powers of their own.
"Blazing Inferno!"
"Lightning Blaster!"
"Terra Vine!"
"Hydro Reaction!"
"Moonlight Beam!"
The variety of powers managed to inflict damage on the Kijumari fleet. Wendy stayed out of the battlefield, not willing to participate. However, some of the Kijumari troopers started attacking her and Daisuke. Rikako noticed this action.
"Daisuke!" shouted Rikako in panic.
Wendy couldn't make a quick decision at that moment. She eventually had no choice but to dive in front of Daisuke to take the hit. Suddenly, Wendy's yellow crystal glowed very brilliantly, blocking the shots made by the Kijumari troopers.
"That's impossible!" exclaimed Wendy.
"There's no time, Wendy!" replied Rikako, "hurry up and transform!"
The message from Rikako sank in. Wendy finally mustered the courage to join the battle for Earth.
"Cosmic Aero Fusion!"
Within an instant, Wendy shed her sundress, revealing a battle suit embellished with the wind symbol and the yellow color. Then she stepped into battle.
"Aerial Nivea!"
Wendy instantly summoned a tornado that critically damaged the Kijumari spacecraft.
"Is that it?" asked Wendy.
"Not yet," answered Rikako, "it's just beginning."
Rikako noticed that her Stellar Key has built up just enough energy like last time. Then, she charged up for her attack, leaving the Kijumari fleet stunned.
"Radiant Assault!"
A beam of light instantly shot from the end of the Stellar Key as it annihilated the remaining Kijumari along with the sabotaged spacecraft. Then, she regrouped with the Spectrum Guardians and Daisuke, and Saki soon joined in.
"Looks like I have to explain everything," said Rikako.
