The rain pours

And the eyes flood,

The doors creak in the wind

And the lips quake

Hear it rumble

Hear it roar.

I close my eyes

And listen to the thunder.

I take your hand and hold you close,

I wipe your eyes and kiss your cheek.

You cuddle close and settle down to sleep,

My little girl, fast asleep in my arms
