WolfSong
By

Soft, auburn fur,
The wind singing past her,
Hearing everything around,
Sensing every presence.
As she sings for the moon,
She wishes for the Full Moon to wax very soon.
Hearing a howl in response,
She feels a presence from beyond.
Running faster than ever before,
Not sure what she's looking for,
She finally makes it o a clearing.
The soft ground so enticing,
The air crisp and endearing,
She lays down in this mysterious clearing,
Falling under the smothering waves of exhaustion.
As she awakes,
She hasn't a lush, beautiful tail,
Soft, auburn fur,
Or her sharp senses.
I am human, she realizes.
Far from this place, the Moon Goddess rejoices.
This wolf is now the first Werewolf, she says,
And there will be many.
