Neither stitches, bandaids, or surgery
Could mend the hole where you should be
My heart aches more with each passing day
Going over words that I had yet to say
Five more minutes is all I ask
But what I want is to change the past
More of you I wish I could see
So I could tell you what you meant to me
I want to hear you laugh again
I want to be with you all the way to the end
I want to sing with you to your favorite song
I want to stay up and watch movies all night long
I want to be so close that we fight
I want you then to tell me it will be alright
I want to know your deepest fears
I want to be your friend for countless years
I want to talk about things of above
I want to watch you fall madly in love
So many things that I never got to say
Most of these I didn't think of til today
But as I write, you are in God's arms
Singing His praises, safe from the way of harms
I know you're happy, but you're not here
And as I write I can't help but shed a tear
I post this poem for all to see
To help carry on your beautiful legacy
