and in this dark hallway,
full of trees like the forest floor,
she sings, perfect melodies with
cracks, her body is compressed cocaine
eyes so blue the ocean's jealous
& she's choking on saltwater taffy,
still singing, her song is made up of
gasps and groans and the hacking off of limbs,
her limbs,
of course,
they always grow back.
