Chapter Seven

Kenneth hadn't noticed the change back into seahorse form. He knew it must have happened at some point during his moping because all of a sudden Endotuer was petting scales instead of hair. But it showed his mental state at that moment if Kenneth did noticed changing form.

He wasn't depressed. Not yet. Not while he still had a hope, however he was feeling very sorry for himself. His body was almost limp with how he was lying. Endotuer sighed, pulling Keni towards him and picked him up, walking back over to the bedroom. Placing him back onto the bed. Gently wrapping the blankets around him.

"Keni" Murmured Endotuer, "It may seem bad at the moment, but i promise you're get used to it" Kenneth lifted his head and only glared at the merman. "Keni" Endotuer said with a scolding tone. Keni lowered his eyes and pressed his head on the blankets.

Endotuer sighed, stroking Kenneth's scales again. Before he could say something and try and cheer the man up again, a bell rang though the apartment. Kenneth opened an eye and watched as Endotuer beamed, "My friends are here!" He exclaimed, saying it in a way which suggested Keni should be excited too. Keni huffed and buried his head under a blanket. Endotuer made a disapproving noise but didn't say anything. Instead walking away, out the room. Keni listened as he greeted the men.

One voice he knew vaguely from yesterday. He whined. Not him again! He tried to buried himself in the blankets, hoping he was small enough that the mer wouldn't notice him. No such luck. A hyperactive squeal ran into the room and pulled the blankets off him. He was pulled into the air and spun round. "Hey Pup! Remember me?" Grinned Abisecaan.

Keni glared at him with every will in his body. Hoping the mer would leave him alone. But the Mer was too busy twirling him round and round to notice the seahorses grumpy glare.

"Abi leave him alone" Endotuer said, quickly taking the seahorse from the hyperactive mer. "You'll make him ill" Kenneth had been beginning to feel slightly queasy. Despite his sulking Kenneth nuzzled into Endotuers hold, knowing it was safer to appear like he only enjoyed being held by his 'owner'. He was less likely to be spun around by a manic.

'He's not that bad' Endotuer whispered in his mind, 'He's just a little..." The Mer trailed off unable to come up with a word.

'Mad? Insane? More hyperactive then a 3 year old on sugar?"

'The last one is pretty exalt' admitted Endotuer, Kenneth could sense an odd feeling coming from the mer. A fond but exasperated feeling, like he had been put up with the mer for a long time. Knowing how long the Mer lived for, he properly had.

"SO this is the new pup you've got"

"Yep isn't he a beauty"

"Quite" The voice was cold and stern. Reminding Kenneth of an old old teacher he once had, "But looks aren't everything" Kenneth looked up to see a mer who looked every bit as cold and stern as he sounded. A light shiver ran down Kenneth's spine. he didn't get a good feeling from this mer. not at all.

'He's alright. Just a little antisocial' Endotuer said lightly, stroking Kenneth soothingly as he felt fear coming over Kenneth link. His friend had a habit of scaring new pups.

"You haven't been in the house five minutes and you've scared the pup" Commented Abi, who was pouting. "He;s adorable!"

"What is his name?" The mer seemed to take no notice of Abi's childish behaviour.

"I decided on Keni" Joy ran though Kenneth at that. he was miffed Endoutuer was using the pet name Rico called him, but didn't want to lose his name. Didn't want to lose everything he had been. He purred and nuzzled against Endotuer in thanks. Endotuer smiled, he wondered if Kenneth even realised he was acting this way. Likely not by the lack of shame radiating from the small body.

"Um" The mer seemed almost disapproving at the name. Which is when Kenneth decided he definably didn't like the mer. Abi was hyperactive but nice, and even the other dude seemed warmer then this creature.

'Keni' warned Endotuer not liking the feelings which were coming from his pet. Both Pups and humans were very stubborn. Kenneth even more so being a lawyer, if he decided he didn't like someone, he would hold a grudge for a long time. Something Endotuer did not want to contend with.

Kenneth ignored his owner, settling for looking grumpily at the other mer, who seemed to be eyeing with up. Without warning the male took him from Endotuer and dropped him.

A scream filled the room as Kenneth hide the floor hard. It was a fair drop from where they had been holding him. He felt as a few scales crunched. Abisecaan was there immediately, picking him up of the floor and rocking him soothingly, hands petting over the injuries. Some of his scales had cracked from the impact on the hard floor and blue blood was leaking from them. Kenneth sobbed and whimpered, burying himself into the kind if not mad mer.

"What the fuck was that for?" Yelled Endotuer at his friend who seemed uncaring of the harm he had committed to the young seahorse.

The man simply shrugged, "He has to learn to float sometime. Now he knows what will happen if he doesn't" He said coldly, "You shouldn't coddle him by holding him all the time"

"He got out of the incubator barely a day ago!" Endotuer yelled, furious at his friend. He had never harmed any of the other pups he had taken care of. He could feel Kenneth's pain leak though the bond. The man screaming and cursing in his head. There was no chance Kenneth wouldn't hold a grudge over this. "I'm the trainer not you!"

The man just looked at him blankly, not really giving a damn about the pup he had just harmed. "I am sorry if it was too soon, but the quicker he learns the more money you'll make from him when you sell"

Endotuer's friend was a pet store owner. Young Seahorses went for a very good prize if they were trained and were young. The younger a seahorse was, the easier it was to bond to it and ensure it didn't run away. Easier it was to gain money from it in the races and in other activities.

'Sell' the thought went though Endotuer mind, filled with horror and trepidation. Kenneth had stopped panicking to hear Endotuer's friend suggest he was going to be sold.

'No!' growled Endotuer to his pet, layering it with layers of possessiveness, "Keni, is mine Juinas, I am not selling him!"

Abisecaan took this moment to remove himself and Keni from the room. Shutting the room behind him. "Come on little one, lets get you fixed up where they aren't arguing" THe younger mer murmured. petting Kenneth gently. Kenneth cried lightly and pressed into mer's clothes.

He was hurt and someone wanted to sell him. This combined with everything else which had happened was just to much for the human turned seahorse. He shook with tears, Abisecaan mistaking them for tears of pain, over crooned over the hurt pup, rocking him gently. "Shh, its not that bad. The pain will go... Stupid Juinas. You haven't even felt pain before" Abisecaan muttered darkly.

Kenneth sob's continued but grew quieter. They could still hear muffled shouting from beyond the door. Juinas has really pissed Abisecaan off when he had hurt him.

Abisecaan placed him on the sofa. Pulling the sofa's around him to ensure he was sitting upright before leaving him there. Returning moments later with some bandages and a tube of something. Gently turning Kenneth over, Abisecaan began running the gel into the injured scales. His hands soft on the hurt hide.

Slowly the yelling got louder until Juinas stomped out of the room and out of the house. "And stay out!" Abisecaan whined but didn't say anything. Too busy with healing the Pup.

"He's a bastard at the best of times Endotuer, why you wanted him to met Keni I'll never know" Abi commented, tipping Keni slightly as he wrapped some bandages around his tail. Keni whimpered at the change of position, but from surprise rather then pain.

"I didn't except him to drop the pup! I mean I know he scares the hell out of them, but harming then? If Keni had landed wrongly he wouldn't be able to float ever!" Endotuer was fuming at this moment. He had hoped to show Kenneth he was safe with him and his friends. Well that idea was well and truly ruined.

Abisecaan, the moment he was done patching Keni up, picked the small seahorse up and pushed him into Endotuer's arms. Endotuer let himself be pushed onto the sofa and cuddle Kenneth close.

'He's not that bad eh?' Kenneth sent him. Endotuer only brittled. This was not going the way he had planned it!
