This was originally written as a song, and I can still remember how it goes for the most part . I might sing it if you ask really nicely. Maybe.

Distant Memories

I remember when…

When I go back to better days…

When it was you and me against the world, no matter what it takes…

As we sat under the star-filled sky, we made a wish that night…

That it would always be you and me until the day we died.

All these distant memories, all these distant memories…

They feel like it was only yesterday.

All these distant memories, all these distant memories…

Oh why, why, why, did it have to be this way?

I remember when…

When we were struggling to get by…

And through it all, you never left my side.

But when it ended, things never were the same,

We soon split apart and went our separate ways.

I remember when…

When I was nothing with you gone…

Nothing could repair the damage that was done…

No one could replace you no matter how they tried.

If I said I didn't need you, that was one big lie.

All these distant memories, all these distant memories…

They feel like it was only yesterday.

All these distant memories, all these distant memories…

Oh why, why, why, did it have to be this way?

Oh please, please, come back to me…

I know I can make things right again,

If you'll only give me another chance.

Please, please, come back to me…

And let me have just one last dance.

All these distant memories, all these distant memories…

Baby, I miss you in every single way, every single day…

All these distant memories, all these distant memories…

Oh why, why, why, did it have to be this way?

I remember when…

When I go back to better days…

When it was you and me against the world, no matter what it takes…
