Verse 1
I was going home; it'd been a long day.
I listened to love songs along the way.
I sat down on the couch, texted my best friends.
And suddenly it all came to a dead end.
She says its' weird, they say it's wrong.
Baby then how come we're going strong?
I've cried so much, my make-up's a smudge,
Can somebody tell me, why do they have to judge?
Chorus
Why do they look at me and you
Like nothing about our love is true?
Like they know things that we don't do?
Like we don't even have a clue?
They act like we're being blasphemic.
Like we're being all weird and sick.
And they make me break into panic.
So somebody tell me one little thing-
Who are they to do the judging?
Verse 2
I tell them we're done, this time for good.
She supports the decision like I knew she would.
She tells me to hold on, and that she's always there.
They check up on me, show me they care.
Meanwhile you and I are still holding hands,
Away from the world that doesn't understand.
They think it's so damn easy to split us into two.
Baby they don't know a single thing about me and you!
Chorus
But why do they look at me and you
Like nothing about our love is true?
Like they know things that we don't do?
Like we don't even have a clue?
They act like we're being blasphemic.
Like we're being all weird and sick.
And they make me break into panic.
So somebody tell me one little thing-
Who are they to do the judging?
Bridge
One day we'll tell them we're still together.
They'd frown, judge more, but we know better.
Cause how many times have they been in love?
If they never felt it, who made them authority?
And if they felt it, they'd be giving us thumbs up.
Cause people in real love won't judge you and me.
Chorus
But right now
Why do they look at me and you
Like nothing about our love is true?
Like they know things that we don't do?
Like we don't even have a clue?
They act like we're being blasphemic.
Like we're being all weird and sick.
And they make me break into panic.
So somebody tell me one little thing-
Who are they to do the judging?
