"Love means not ever having to say you're sorry."
~ Erich Segal
"And how are we to do such a thing?" Venus looked at the goddess before her at the impossible tasked that she had just suggested.
The very child they spoke about was nearly always with her mother and if something did happen to the child not only would they have to deal with Ares but that of Zeus.
Venus wanted to see Pandia hurt and was willing to play any game that will cause such but this one was too risky.
Hera turned to her eyebrow roused elegantly and a stoic features she placed the goblet of ambrosia on a table. Opening the chest that set on top of it she grabbed the vile that rested there.
"In this vile I give to you is a powerful potion to make one forget temporarily."
Venus walked to the goddess eyes stayed on the vile that was in the older goddess hand with her hands out as if she was submitting to the woman.
A cold smirk came to her lips at she looked at the foolish goddess.
"Ah-ah, I must tell you the directions first so you don't place to much damage on Ares. Only use one drop of this potion in his drink the effects will work instantly…it will make him forget anything that important that surrounds anything with his children and especially Airlia. In seven months on Airlia's second birthday you place two drips in it."
"Why two?" Venus asked as she looked away from the vile to the cold jade iris of Hera.
"The second birthday of Airlia will be very important for every demigod child for they begin to develop quicker and grow just like an immortal child."
"Meaning this will truly be her first memory that she can remember," she stated.
"Exactly…Pandia will be expecting Ares to be there and he won't for he will be with you and your daughter. The two drops will make him forget her and Airlia for the whole day until midnight that is around the time that he begins to remember."
"Which will cause a major issue between them," the smile that came to her lips reflected that of Hera's.
"Meaning you will have his full attention…I know my son when he is tensed and stressed at home he will find things to keep him away."
"I think it is a sound plan,"
It was so simple speaking about it to Hera yet acting out was the most difficult. How could she drug Ares if he was never around?
She went about her duties of her station as the goddess of love while still the issue of getting Ares back weight on her mind. For weeks on end to think up things to gain his attention, letters of urgency was responded back without such care from him.
She walked her chambers thinking of ways to bring Ares back to her when the sound of Harmonia cries interrupted her thoughts. Looking at the chamber doors that separated hers and the babe she waited for one of her Graces too see to the child.
She waited what seem like an hour and still the child's crying wouldn't cease. Then the thought hit her, she had given her ladies orders to handle and they wouldn't return back in five hours.
With all the strength in her she walked towards the chamber doors that held her daughter.
She was facing the door…her hands stayed to her side not even bothering to open the door. The feeling of wanting to flee and the urge to cry came over her like tideway's.
The fear of being near her daughter and having the feeling of disappointment wanted her to run away from this child.
The urge to cry came from ever wile her baby made that pierce her heart because her mother was unable to comfort her.
Never with any children she had made her want to do such but then again none of her children had been boys. This was her first daughter…her only daughter and she couldn't even go to her.
Letting out a soft sigh with all the strength within her she placed her hand upon the doorknob and walked into the room of her daughter.
Eyes transfixed on the cradle before her the soft wiles that came from it caused the anxiety to build up inside of her.
Taking small steps to the cradle she couldn't stop the trembling sensation that came over her.
Her eyes became moist as she looked at her child cry for comfort.
Little Harmonia wiggled around as her wiles became loud soft tears ran down her cheek as her little face became red.
"What is it that discomfort you?" she said as her own tears ran down.
The mother instinct was fighting to make surface but her fear was stopping it to come out.
"What can I do!" she yelled as she too cries.
"Please tell me! I don't know how to comfort you!"
She looked at her baby and the more that she cried so did she until the mother inside her came fourth.
Not even thinking at all she went and grabbed her baby cuddling her within her arms and bosom as she softly rocked her. Harmonia seem to calm herself as she rested in her mother's arms for the first time.
Venus looked at her daughter, it felt so right to have her in her arms yet something within her knew that this was the opening stage of her disappointing her daughter.
"I'm so sorry Harmonia…I wish I could be like other mothers…like Pan-" she had to stop herself for saying the name of her enemy.
Pandia…the personification of brightness…of perfection…of being the most beautiful then every goddess before or after her…of being the only goddess to make all the immortal man adore her in ways they could never with the other goddess…of being one of the perfect mothers on Mount Olympus.
How was she able to take care of not only a female child but also one that was not hers but her husband bastards?
The many times that she seen Pandia with the child the impression of their interaction was that of a true mother-daughter even though everyone know they were not blood related.
And here she was, blood related and all yet she couldn't even pick her child up to comfort her.
"I'm sorry Harmonia…I'm sorry," she said holding the baby tight to her knowing that this was going to be the last time she truly say such words again.
"I'm sorry…"
He couldn't stop himself from replaying the incident in his head. And each time that he thought about the incident he couldn't stop himself from asking the same question.
What possessed him to do such?
There has been many times in the past that Venus spoke of his wife with such contempt with worse names then bitch. And there has been many times that Pandia had went so far to disrespect Venus that in his anger he had lay his hands upon her…yet he always regretted his actions afterwards.
But when he grabbed Venus as she deliberately disrespected Pandia it angered him in ways that he never thought before.
And that was the part that confused him more then ever…he had no feelings of love for Pandia like he had for Venus…he cared for Pandia because she was his friend and the mother of his child.
Even though he may not speak such out loud Pandia was definitely the woman that held his respect something that was hard for some to gain.
Yet still his actions towards Venus said something more then Pandia having his respect…something that he wasn't willing to speak aloud.
Both women were the mothers of his children…even here Pandia was held in a higher respect then Venus.
For sometime, he has seen the leek of attention that Venus shows to their daughter. He didn't mention it to her but there was something that was bothering Venus about Harmonia.
Was she still upset that Harmonia had been born a girl instead of a boy?
Whatever the reason was he decided that today that he was going to face this issues with Venus.
As he walked the halls of his brother's house he came to the chambers of his love. Inhaling and exhaling he open the doors to her chambers quietly stepping inside he closed the doors.
The room was quiet…as the sound of soft sniffles could be heard in the next room that was Harmonia's chambers. He walked towards her chambers quietly making sure that he was undetected by anyone.
Coming closer to the door he could hear the soft sounds of someone whispering as he came closer he knew who it was making the soft sniffles and whispers…Venus.
"I'm sorry Harmonia…I wish I could be like other mothers…like Pan-"
He listens closer to her and what she was saying…
"I'm sorry Harmonia…I'm sorry,"
"I'm sorry…"
"I don't want to be like my mother…I don't want to be mean to you and disappoint you like I've did my mother."
"I'm sorry that I'm weak when it comes to you…"
He couldn't listen anymore or for that fact by there…this moment was there's and he couldn't ruin it.
Out of all the years that he knew Venus he never thought she felt this way or for that matter feared her mother Dione.
But in this moment he learned something from her that he knew she would have never told him willingly.
That she held even darker beautiful demons then he did.
