Chapter 2: No Time

A flash of light, red and hazy. A voice saying, "Fight it. Overcome it." I look up at the light. Nothing. No figure, no more light, no sound. Just the pain. Intense and agonizing pain. I wanted to kill myself, but it was to intense. After a few minutes of cringing in pain, Something lifted me into the air. At first, I thought Nega had come back to finish me off, but I looked up and saw myself.

I was holding myself up, but how could I? I was still holding my chest. Then I focused my eyes a bit more, and noticed that it was a younger version of myself. "Fight the pain. Don't push it away, fight it. Accept that its part of you.", he said to me, You're stronger than the pain." At first, I ignored what was said, then I focused on the pain. Willing it to go away, with all my might. Ease coursed through my body. Strength, filled through my legs. I stood.

My younger version let me go, and I looked at him. It was me at thirteen. "I've lost my mind. What the hell is going on here?", I said. "No, your mind is losing you.", He said to me, "And I'm here to help it find you."

"Huh? What are you talking about?"

"Nega has taking over your life, and time is running out. You must get a hold of yourself and regain sense of your mind."

"This is getting crazy", the pain began to come back, "Why is all this happening?"

"Because you are letting it. You let the worst of your life take the best of you. Now focus, Nega is destroying the life you made so far. He's hacking away at your friends and family."

"But how is he doing that so soon? He just took off a few minutes ago."

"A few minutes here, is a few weeks out there. Its been two months since he took over."

"What, no. How?"

"It doesn't matter now, time is short. Keep focused and come with me!"

He grabbed my arm, then a bright red light flashed and we were out of the park. He took me to a place where time stood still, no wind blew and no light shined. "This is your subconscious. The only place left that Nega hasn't touched.", he said, "I will explain what's going on here."

"Why here?"

"Because time moves slower here. Here time moves normal, as it does in the outside world. I am your inner voice. You can call me V."

"My inner voice? Okay, and I'm not supposed to feel crazy why?"

"You have gone through a lot of mental abuse over the course of your life, and you were afraid to let out certain emotions. And it all built up."

"Yeah, yeah, I know that part. Nega told me. Skip to the new stuff."

"Hush up a second. It built up, and it took up too much space in your mind. So much space you pushed your self control to the side, and it lost you."

"How could it have lost me? I'm right here. Can't you just bring it here and reunite us?"

"Its not that simple. You have to defeat Nega first. He did something to it, so that I couldn't find it."

"So what am I supposed to do, kill Nega and let it out of a cage?"

"Get real, you can't kill a part of yourself, you must use it like energy. Drain it of its power, then learn to control it."

"But V, how can I do that? You saw what he did to me. How can I defeat him like that?"

"Easy...mind over matter..."
