Here's a poem from the mind of 8/9 year old kid who takes school seriously enough to feel bad about not doing the homework :D

Monday Morning

I walk into school Monday morning

Dreading what's to come

For a storm is certainly brewing

The teacher's gonna have a tantrum

I keep my head low

I don't mess around with my mate

For one single blow

Could determine my fate

The teacher is approaching

I await my doom

He taps his foot, waiting

There's silence in the classroom

He sighs and moves on

I start to breathe again

The moment is now gone

The homework forgotten.
