I tore their throats out, enjoyed the thrill of the kill. They were leeches; not human and needing to be destroyed. But why can't I kill 'him? The vampire hybrid who claims to be my mate. All I knew was that I couldn't forget the feel of his lips on mine. M- language, sex.

Chapter 6- Hayden P.O.V
How do you know what 'love at first sight' is? Is it when you've just met someone, and she is your every thought. That one person you'd do anything for and feel like you've known them forever although you've just met, and want to spend every moment with?
When I upset Callie today before chemistry, I felt so bad. I just wanted to cheer her up and make her smile again. Too bad the only guy that can do that is Jake. They act so much like a couple, but I haven't seen anything more than sisterly love towards her.
Every time I see her, my heart beats faster and every time I hear her voice my body longs for her. I still have a heartbeat, even though I'm part vampire.
I'm falling hard for this girl, and I'm falling fast.
Before I see her, I know she's around, like my soul can feel her, and when our skin connects, it's like a spark, and I think she feels it too. When we bumped shoulders in class, she flinched and looked at me as if she'd felt it too.
I focus all my energy on her and try to read her mind, but each time comes the same result; I'm always unsuccessful. I wonder what her family dramas were about when she left art?
I heard footsteps outside my bedroom door. Dad was up. He kept walking past, his designer shoes clacking against the wooden floor. Dad had a bit of money, but he didn't bother spending any of it on me, it was all about him.
He was probably leaving to go to a meeting right now. I heard the front door slam close, and his car engine start up from the street outside. He drove off down the road.
I walked into the kitchen and got some food out of the cupboard. I still needed human food. I poured myself a bowl of cornflakes, leaving food over the bench. I sat down and started to eat. I shovelled a massive spoonful into my mouth just as the doorbell rung.
"Coming!" I called out, trying to swallow my food. I opened the door to this woman, about 25 years old I'd say, and definitely vampire. Her long blonde hair cascaded down around her waist, and the blue dress she wore was flowing around her.
I stared at her gorgeous beauty. She wasn't my type however, and she was way too old for me. She was dads second in command pretty much. Jezebels smile turned into a frown.
"Are you going to let me in, bitch?" She asked.
"Sure, come in," I said. And I though Callie had a temper. She looked at the bench, sickened by the look of normal food.
"Do you have anything... more suitable for me to drink?"
I just replied, "In the fridge." She growled and mumbled something like 'bloody halves', but went and got it as I walked back to the couch where my corn flakes were.
"Where's your dad?" She asked, as she sipped the blood I'd told her to get herself.
I shrugged, "Gone out, I guess."
"Do you know where?"
"No clue."
"Well, you're helpful then! Could you just tell him that I was here, and that the hunters have begun training," she put the glass back on the bench and walked outside and closed the door.
I'm used to vampires popping in all the time to see my dad, so it wasn't strange to see one show up today, especially Jez.
I placed my empty bowl in the sink, and packed up the food, so dad wouldn't get annoyed with me again, or do to me what he did to mum. Still not feeling fully satisfied, I got my motorbike and went down to the woods.
I know we have blood in the fridge, but it just doesn't taste as good as fresh blood straight from an animal, and it certainly wasn't as filling when from a jar.
I ran into the woods, smelling a few foxes up a head. No one misses the foxes, because they are feral animals here, so au always prey on them to not feel as bad. I crouched behind a tree, and let my fangs extend to their full length, the points pricking my bottom lip.
When I saw a fox come close enough, I ambushed, sinking my fangs in before it could struggle. I felt the thick, warm liquid flowing down my throat and into my veins. My eyes closed. I drained it within 5 mouthfuls.
I left it on the ground under a tree, leaving the body for another predator. No use wasting a good meal for something else.
Most of the vampires around here did that. Which, for some reason, got me thinking about the creature killing humans and dumping their bodies. Yes, their blood tasted good, but seriously?!
I mean, if you were going to drink from a human, you would at least dispose of the body. Not that I've ever killed one anyway, or drunken from one either.
I ran out of the woods, feeling lively again, and rode my bike home. Even with my new energy, I knew I should get some sleep sooner or later. Lately, I haven't been getting to sleep on time, and my human part would soon fizzle out, and then my vampire part would slowly become fatigued.
Vamps still need sleep, just not as much as humans, and they usually get it in the day. But the problem is, that's when my human part is awake. So I try to go by that cycle, meaning the human one.
I climbed into my bed, my heartbeat in my ears from the fresh blood in my system. I stared up at the ceiling, pictures of Callie floating through my mind and putting me to sleep.
AN: Short chapter, I know. Sorry! Oh, and please review!
