I'm not the girl they think I am

Modest, small, and sweet

They think they've figured it all out

But the truth is they don't know me

I'm the girl who sits alone , and cry's

In the middle of the night

Crystal exterior

Deep dark interior

You look at me

That's not what you see

I'm the girl who doesn't swear

Or go to the world outside

Because I know what horrors await

That's why I always hide

Some people, they are brave

They can carry on

But when a crystal cracks

You wait and it shatters

Exposes what's inside

Maybe you can stand out there

Buffeted by the wind

But not me, though you can see

I am the crystal girl

Crystal exterior

Deep dark interior

And I have no intention

Of allowing myself to crack
