The Princess Tree

In the old days of kings, princesses, small villages, and witches, a young prince left his father's kingdom to go on an adventure and do amazing deeds. He searched the world over, but found no dragons to kill, no giants to slay, or any other things that young princes like to kill on their adventures. So, he decided to return to his father's kingdom. He took a short cut through the woods and found a small cabin. Growing next to this cabin was the most beautiful tree he ever saw. He dismounted his horse and walked over to the tree.

"You are the most beautiful tree I ever saw," spoke the prince.

"Thank-you," replied the tree.

"What's this, a talking tree? How can this be?" spoke he.

"I was once a beautiful princess, but the evil witch in the cabin turned me into a tree."

"I shall kill the witch and break the curse you are under."

"I think not," hissed a voice.

The prince turned around and saw an ugly old hag. Before he could draw his sword, she turned him into a tree. After a time the two trees grew into one tree.

The moral of this story is if you hear any talking trees run like hell!
