When soaring through the endless sky

A mockingbird saw the earth below,

He stretched his wings to reach so high

He passed the point of no return.

And watching as he disappeared

Beyond the clouds, beyond the stars,

There was another bird who feared

That great unknown and yet he yearned

To travel by the side of one

Whose soul had called him from the void.

He spread his wings beneath the sun

And mounted up-too soon to learn

His strength was not enough to span

The gap between his heart and hope.

He spiraled, grieving, back to land

And saw a falling star that burned

A message he need only wait.

One day his cage would break and then

To join his friend would be his fate.

Together to forever roam in that far place of no return.
