Everywhere, everywhere the trees grow-

Reaching for the sky,

Heavy with fragrant blooms,

Some bearing fruit,

Others offering only their fragile beauty.

What do they think as they stand among us?

Do they fear us, hate us,

In our mindless destruction

Of what took a billion billion years to create-

Or do they only pity us?
