Chapter 15

"I would love to." I hug him. This is amazing. I've never had anyone ask me to move in with them.

"Anyways, I think I need someone to look after me. I really don't want some weird nurse living with me. I rather have the guy I love living with me. It's a win, win." He gives me that killer smile of his. "Well, I'm ready." He laces his fingers up with mine. "Let's go check me out."

I smile. "I do that enough already.

We walk out of the hospital, into the fresh air. Cody's appointment is scheduled for May 19th. Cody takes a deep breath. Then coughs it right back out. "I didn't really miss the New York air." He smiles over at me.

"Well I missed you." I smile back at him. "That was my lame attempt at flirting if you wanted to know."

"It's cute." He leans over and plants a soft kiss on my lips. We walk hand and hand down the street then he drags me onto a bench. "So babe, last time we really didn't get the chance to finish our date. I was wondering if you would want to go to dinner with me." He says with a small smile.

"You know I want to." I smile back.

"I know. It's just polite to ask." He sticks his tongue out at me. "Where do you wanna go?" He squeezes my hand.

"Doesn't matter to me as long as I'm with you." I bump into him. "I think I'm getting better at this flirting thing."

He giggles at me. "Sure you are. You mind if we go to this one diner I want to go to?"

"What's it like?" I ask

"It's this restaurant, but the cool thing is that the waiters and waitresses sing. Most of them go on to Broadway." He has a huge grin and his eyes are wide.

"Sure babe." I wrap my arm around his waist. Lead the way."

"Welcome! My name is Rufus and I will be your server today." The waiter smiles at us. "Can I start you two out with something to drink?"

We order our drinks and they came in nothing flat. Then we order our food. This place is so cool. They have all kinds of lights everywhere. And there's blue paint everywhere. Just then I hear Rufus start to sing. He's singing a song from Phantom of the Opera. I love that musical. He's a really good singer. I look over at Cody. He's smiling. I think he's really enjoying this place. And I think he thinks Rufus is a good singer by how he's moving to the music. Cody looks over at me, squeezes my hand and looks back at Rufus. After a few minutes, he finishes singing. Cody and I clap along with everyone else. After a few more minutes of small talk, our food comes. This food tastes amazing. This place is amazing! I'm definitely coming back here again. We finish clapping and Rufus comes over to our table.

"Did you like it?" He says panting with his hands on his hips.

"I loved it!" Cody said while bouncing in his seat.

"How about you?" Rufus asks me.

"I thought you were absolutely amazing. Speechless."

"Thanks." Rufus smiles and walks away.

We finish eating and pay for all of our delicious food, and then we walk out of the diner to go to my house to pack up my things.

We arrive at my house and start packing with boxes I bought a while back ago. You didn't think I was going to stay in this crappy apartment forever did you? Anyways, we finish packing my items. (I don't have very much) And we call the moving company.

After a few minutes, the moving van arrived and we loaded it up. I'm so excited! This is such a big step for Cody and I but I know I love him so it's fine. And anyways, gay vampire time goes faster than straight human time. We're driving down the road and it hits me. I'm moving in with the guy I fell in love with. Isn't that what everyone wants? And I have it.

We pull into Cody's driveway and I just can't believe that this is going to be my home, too. This is crazy. I'm such a weird vampire. We both get out of the van and start taking boxes to the front of the house. Once we set all of the, like, five boxes outside of the house, Cody opened the door.

"Good evening, Mr. Gaetano." There's that automated voice again.

"Did you meet V.A.L. yet?" Cody asks me while carrying a box in.

"V.A.L.?" I ask. He named… whatever that thing is.

"Yeah. It stands for virtual artificial life." He smiles. "Designed her myself in all the spare time I've had over the past few years. It runs the whole house."

"That's cool." I look around. "Where should I put these boxes?"

"Well, first we have to sort them. Clothes from non-clothes." Cody grabs a box.

"Well the lightest box is the only box without clothes."

Cody picks up a few boxes then find the lightest one and hands it to me. "Go take this to my room and make yourself at home." He smiles at me.

"Will do." I take the box out of his hands and walk up the stairs to Cody's… and my room. I only have a few items. Mostly pictures and my various electronics. I finish setting up my pictures and walk back down stairs. I see that all the rest of the boxes are empty. "Hey babe, what did you do with my clothes?"

"Oh. I gave them to V.A.L. to sort into the closet." He sits on the couch.

"Oh, okay." I sit next to him.

"Yeah. I know it's going to take you some time getting used to this." He grabs my hand.

"I'll be fine." I smile at him.

"Okay." He smiles back at me. "V.A.L., what time is it?"

"Ten at night." V.A.L. rings through the house.

"Wanna head to bed?" Cody asks me.

"Sure." We walk up to the bedroom and fall asleep in eachother's arms.
