Savanna waded calmly through hoards of dancing bodies, the techno music in combination with the hard liquor pumping through her made her head spin a bit, but the feeling was welcomed. It meant no coherent thoughts, and that was good, because pondering was the last thing Savanna needed. No, what Savanna really needed, was as much narcotics as her body could possibly handle, and a night (or five) of real, all out carelessness.

That's why she went to Leo's place, after all. A party thrown by Leo Decoup was always a good party, riddled with drugs and drunkenness, a party that was anything but legal.

The disorder looked out of place in Leo's house, which was fitted with expensive, plush furniture, all a shade of white. There were white walls, white carpets, couches, electronics, tables, chairs. And hidden in little nooks and corners of the house were valuable looking pieces of abstract art, blending into the overall floor plan flawlessly. Strewn beer cans and food plates made the whole scene seem so much more plastic.

Very unintentionally, she found him. By him, I don't mean Leo, she really wouldn't have had a problem talking with Leo, he kept her at ease. But lo and behold, lounging lazily on a plush white sofa, a beer in his hand and a smirk on his face, was Dimitri. He sat casually among the jungle of moving bodies. Savanna knew that he was going to be there, but she figured that it was a big house, with many people, and too much noise, so the odds were slim that Dimitri would even catch a glimpse of her.

Her heartbeat sped up, and she pulled at the bottom of her too-short red dress, and smoothed down her wild black hair. Dressed like this, with him looking, she felt too naked, too indecent. See, Dimitri and Savanna had been the best of friends since they were very small, and although they made each other uneasy and uncomfortable, they'd never been able to go their separate ways.

And so, to Dimitri, Savanna looked so revealing, with her hair cascading across bare shoulders and her blue eyes giving a wide, deer-caught-in-headlights look. He involuntarily clenched his jaw and frowned, sort of like an over protective parent might, though after all, he was a male, and she looked beautiful, so his thoughts did momentarily stray where most would when looking at a particularly appealing woman.

"Hey, Vanna." Dimitri nodded casually.

Savanna sucked her bottom lip in between her teeth. "Hey. What's going on?"

She sauntered over and sat next to Dimitri on the couch, crossing her legs at the ankles and studying her beer bottle with carefully manicured fingers.

Dimitri shrugged. "Nothing in particular. Just waiting for you to come around." In his voice, Dimitri let slip a hint of a flirtatious tone, which caught Savanna by surprise, and her fingertips burned in anticipation. Of what, she didn't know.

"Well, isn't that flattering. Look, I'm a bit drunk, and I feel like I'm about to say something I'll regret, so just stop listening to me." Savanna looked over to Dimitri, and her heart suddenly took into account that his eyes were the color of a troubled green sea, and it began beating ridiculously fast.

"No way. The most honest truth is spoken with intoxicated tongues." He paused for a moment. "I want that on my gravestone. Savanna, make a note of it." He nodded all business, before flashing a grin that made Savanna giddy.

For god sakes. I'm a grown woman. She thought irritably. I'm acting like a child.

She really wanted to kiss him, so kiss him she did. He was startled, of course, but he had also consumed his fair share of alcohol, and kissing the very pretty woman seemed only logical. It was a comfortable, instinctual fiery kiss. Savanna tangled her fingers in Dimitri's hair, and Dimitri ran his hands down her shoulders and back, loving the feel of her smooth skin against the pads of his fingers.

They broke away, an easy, pleasant feeling spread through Dimitri, its feeling that radiated from his lips. And then it dawned on him one moment he figured out what had bothered him about Savanna all of these years. She had made him feel like he was her highest priority and a wad of gum under her sneaker at the same time, and it was that attention that he had always craved from her, but kissing her was so much better than any confusing signals she had ever given him.

To a bystander, the scene would have looked a bit weird. Savanna and Dimitri's faces were an inch apart, and they were looking at each other with surprised and startled expressions. But the pair wouldn't have noticed, because while Dimitri was figuring out all of his feelings, Savanna just wanted to do what she just did again, and again, and again, because Dimitri was right, the most honest truth is spoken with intoxicated tongues, and the most truthful kisses were stolen when completely shit-faced… Or something, she was never good with her words, that was Dimitri's forte.

Savanna leaned back first, and took a deep breath. "I'm… I'm really… drunk. I should go." She stood up too leave, smoothing down her dress.

"Alright." Dimitri mumbled, pulling his car keys out of his pocket. "But friends don't let friends drive drunk."

Savanna raised an eyebrow. "You're drunk too."

"Well I guess we'll just have to catch a cab." He shrugged innocently, but there was an odd twinkle in his eye.

This was just something I thought up. I haven't been writing for a while, so I'm a bit rusty, and I just had to get this out there. Sorry for any grammar/punctuation/spelling mistakes.

Thanks for reading, be sure to review, because I read every single one of them and your opinions make me happy!
